Pohjantie Junior Big Band (PJBB) from the city of Kuopio is made up of about twenty young musicians aged from 13 to 19 years old. The majority of band members are now 15-18 years old. The orchestra started holding regular rehearsals and set off on the big band path set by Krzysztof in the autumn of 2016, after the orchestras from the school in Pohjantie (Kalevala) had turned 40 in spring. The orchestra is led by Krzysztof Dobosiewicz.
Pohjantie Junior Big Band is under the patronage of the Nuorisomusiikki ry Youth Music Association in Kuopio. The aim of the association is to promote music activities of young people and support them financially. The association stands behind the activities of a choir, orchestra and band formed by students attending music classes at the school in Kalevala.
